About The Federation
The Greenville Jewish Federation is a non-profit promoting the Jewish values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), Tzedakah (charity and social justice), and Torah (Jewish learning) through educational, social, and cultural programming for the Jewish community and their neighbors in the Upstate of SC and beyond.
South Carolina has a rich Jewish history, and the Upstate is no exception. The first Jewish resident to be recognized in what is now Greenville dates back to the late 1700s. As with those who came before us, various opportunities and individual circumstances continue to bring new faces and families to the Upstate. With an invigorating mix of tradition and innovation, GJF is committed to creating a unifying presence for all Jews who reside in this area…regardless of affiliation.
Working within our broader community, serving individuals and families in 11 counties of Upstate SC, funds raised go to support programs such as PJ Library, Jewish Upstate Teens, MOMentum, The Genes Among Us, Connecting Jewish Generations, and more.
